How to Go Shopping Once Every Two Months

Food shopping can be expensive, but it does not have to be!

So grocery/food shopping absolutely needs to be categorized into two different areas.

Shopping for STAPLES                                                  Shopping for ADD-ONS.

Once you understand these two areas, your grocery shopping thinking will be much easier. I think most everyone knows what a staple is. What you may not know, is what an "add on" is.

According to the national geographic society,  a food staple is "a food that is eaten routinely and in such quantities that it constitutes a dominant portion of a standard diet for a given people."

Food staples keep a good long time and provide you with lots of #healthandwealth! These items can be bought for cheaper, and are eaten with a variety of meals. Think rice, beans, etc. More on that in the next post...

"Add-ons" are items that you need specifically for a recipe, or items that are perishible, that don't keep as long as staples do. These may be things such as lettuce, fresh fish, or random spices  you don't keep on hand like anardana

To go shopping once every two months applies to the staples section. Depending on who you are, it could be even less than that. The challenge is in your hands!

Pay attention to the next two posts coming out this week and next! They are titled "How to Stock a Pantry" and "How to Stock a Freezer."

See you soon!
